Hiking and Trekking

Hiking along endless unspoilt beaches or through wild cork oak forests, reaching mountain tops with breathtaking views across the Straits to Africa, is a wonderful way to escape from everyday life. There are a few marked paths with one of them, the famous “Buddha” trail, in fact starting just behind hotel Punta Sur. For those who love to adventure into the wild, there is no limit to wonderful trails accessible by use of GPS Apps like Wikiloc or Komoot.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking in Tarifa is not only a wonderful alternative for days with no wind, it is increasingly becoming a reason in itself to visit Tarifa. With the tallest mountain in the area, “Tajo de las Escobas” rising up to 839 meters, dozens of challenging routes and trails offer fun and adrenaline for bikers of all levels. Mountain Biking is a fantastic way to keep fit and to enjoy Tarifa´s great outdoors and breathtaking panoramas. You are welcome to rent Cannondale mountain bikes at the Hurricane gym or at Electric Bikes Tarifa.

Rock Climbing

The beautiful rocks of San Bartolo mountain, only a few kilometers from the hotel, combine classic routes with sport climbing routes for all levels. In addition, they are protected from the wind and offer the possibility of climbing throughout the year thanks to the mild climate of the area. The rock consists of compact sand and limestone. Most of the routes measure about 25 metres long although there are also some with a length of up to 80 metres. There are even some boulder areas to enjoy (climbing without a rope and without harness).
